Instruction on how to hard reset or restore the iXG and iXH Camera Firmware

In-Depth

A Hard Reset will restore the camera’s firmware (camera settings are not affected) in the event you need to restore the camera’s firmware to the factory version.

Restoring the iXH Camera Firmware

1. Peel off the two plastic covers shown in the image below and unscrew the two screws underneath (with a Hex Screwdriver - 2mm tip) until you can remove the metal cover.

2. Insert a pin or thin paper clip into the hole seen inside and hold it down.

*Note: There is a small button inside the little hole. It is not necessary to push very hard. On some units it can be very difficult to feel that the button is being pushed down, but a simple normal press is enough for the reset to work. Pressing with too much force may damage the unit.

3. Connect the camera to power while holding down the pin.

4. Wait 3 – 4 seconds, then remove the pin or paper clip.

5. Put the camera aside for a few minutes while the firmware is restored to the factory version. Do not power off the camera until all LED's resumes normal colors.

6. Once the camera LED's have reset, the factory reset is complete.

  • You can verify the factory firmware installed in Capture One inside the Camera Settings tool under 'About,' or in the Firmware Updater application.
