Summary

The H 20 will not allow the camera to fire until it is ready to make an image. If you cannot press the shutter release button on a Hasselblad body with the H 20 mounted on it.  It is locked and will not release the shutter.

In-Depth

This is normal behavior if the H 20 is not ready to capture an image. The H 20 employs a shutter control mechanism that will block the shutter release on mechanical Hasselblad camera bodies until the back and software is ready to accept a capture.

Make sure that all of the following conditions are met:

  1. The FireWire cable is inserted into the H 20 back.
  2. The other end of the cable is plugged into a suitable host device with adequate power. The green LED's will be lit.
    1. For iMacs, laptops or thunderbolt adapters, use a powered Firewire hub to be sure the back is powered.
  3. Capture One software is ready to capture.

If the camera body still does not release the shutter check all cable connections carefully.
