How about newer operating system?
For Windows SCSI based scanning backs rely on ASPI drivers from Adaptec to be able to communicate and there is no drivers available for Windows Vista or Windows 7 which means Windows XP is the last operating system which unit can work on.

There is no Mac OS X compatible software.

How to configure Win XP to run a Phase One SCSI device.
1. Recommended Controller (SCSI card):

  • Adaptec 2906 (for desktops)
  • Adaptec 1480 (highly recommend)
  • Adaptec USBXchange SCSI which is a USB to SCSI converter. (for laptops)

 

2. Install the ASPI layer:
This layer is available from Adaptec and will help the SCSI technolgy communciate with the Win XP OS. https://adaptec.com/en-us/speed/software_pc/aspi/aspi_v470_exe.php

  • Please install version 4.7.0 from the link above.
  • Once downloaded, double-click the folder, expand the self-extracting file.
  • Run the ASPIINST.exe file. This will install your new ASPI layer.
  • Restart computer.

 

SCSI cable configuration with a Phase One Scan Back.

The SCSI cable is a special build that is only available from Phase One (please contact your Phase One Reseller for pricing and availability). The SCSI cable ships with a 50pin centronics female to 25 pin male Sub D "gender changer" which allows connection to built-in Macintosh SCSI ports on the Mac. The 25 pin Sub D can be found on Adaptec 1906 SCSI cards for Mac and Win systems.

  1. 25 pin male, connect to computer port
  2. Connect to Scan Back
  3. Power cable receiver, connect to power supply
