Instruction for updating firmware on iXM

In-Depth

  • Make sure the “Firmware Updater” software is installed on your windows computer.
  • Make sure iX Capture or Capture One is not running as they may hijack the camera connection.
  • Connect the iXM with USB cable directly (No USB hub) to the computer and power it on.
  • Check what firmware is in the camera, this is listed in the firmware updater tool when your camera is connected, if firmware 1.02 or 3.00.23 is installed please read *notes below
  • Drag and drop your *.fwr file into the Firmware updater. Press the “Update” botton. The camera will start flashing both 2 left LEDs in orange for few minutes. When it finish, it will re-start the iXM camera and the Firmware updater will show the new firmware version loaded into the iXM camera.

Note: do NOT remove the power before upgrade is completed.

Note: The Firmware Update process may take up to 6 minutes and all LEDs might glow in bright blue. This is normal flow of the update process

Note: When updating the camera firmware from 1.02 to any higher firmware version, make sure the camera is set to Low Power Mode in iX Capture at less than 10 seconds. Leaving the camera at Low Power Mode Disable will not allow the firmware update process to complete.

Note: Due-to limitation with version 3.00.23, the firmware update from 3.00.23 to any other version should be done in control temperature. Please ensure ambient temperature below 30 degrees Celsius and camera not operational for at least 30 min prior to the firmware update.

Note: From version 5.06.10 we have made a "superpackage" released as an Official Release of iXM Firmware. Starting from 4.21.28 in order to flash the firmware properly first we need to flash iXM5.06.22.fwr on the iXM camera, afterwards we should flash iXMSystem5.06.10.fwp.

*.fwp is the package file. *.fwr is the firmware file.
